Fortera Corporation is Hiring a Purchasing Specialist Near San Jose, CA

POSITION OVERVIEW:

As a Purchasing Specialist, you will play a critical role in our organization's supply chain management process. You will be responsible for sourcing, purchasing, and procuring goods and services necessary for our operations. Your primary objective will be to ensure timely and cost-effective acquisition of quality materials while adhering to company policies and budgetary constraints.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Identify potential suppliers and evaluate their products and services.
  • Negotiate terms and conditions with vendors to secure favorable pricing, payment terms, and delivery schedules.
  • Obtain and review quotations, proposals, and bids from suppliers.
  • Select suppliers based on factors such as price, quality, reliability, and delivery speed.
  • Generate purchase orders accurately and efficiently.
  • Coordinate with internal departments to ensure purchase orders reflect the correct specifications and quantities.
  • Assist in developing and implementing policies and procedures for workflow optimization.
  • Monitor and track the status of orders to ensure timely delivery.
  • Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with existing and potential suppliers.
  • Address any issues or concerns promptly and effectively.
  • Collaborate with suppliers to identify opportunities for cost savings, quality improvement, and innovation.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
  • Maintain accurate records of purchasing activities, including contracts, agreements, and correspondence.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 1-2 years of experience in a similar role.
  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, supply chain management, or related field (preferred).
  • Proven experience in procurement, purchasing, or supply chain management.
  • Strong negotiation skills and ability to build productive relationships with suppliers.
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and experience with procurement software or ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle).
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret data and make informed decisions.
  • Detail-oriented and highly organized with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Knowledge of procurement best practices and industry trends.
  • Experience working in a start-up environment a plus.

COMPENSATION:

The compensation package for this role includes a compensation commensurate with experience of $65,000 - $75,000 and pre-IPO incentive stock options.
